Garden in the Court was a commission in Seattle to transform a dilapidated, seventy five year old tennis court into a sculpture garden.

The layout of the court was preserved and native plants were allowed to survive in the fissures of the concrete. Sections of the court were removed to accommodate roses, wisteria and other plants.The three lighted glass and metal columns were inspired by an outdoor altar I saw in Rome.The photographs etched into some of the glass panes are from gardens in Beijing, Ninfa and Memphis. A wisteria grows through a fourth column and forms a canopy on a horizontal trellis.. A philosopher's stone anchors the other end of the garden.
